Abstract:Research has shown that students understand material best if they learn through individual discovery and experimentation. It is therefore important that computer science educators employ this paradigm broadly to enhance the students' learning experiences.
However, -- other than in the traditional classroom -- creating these experiences in an online setting is rather burdensome and difficult as the instructor has to model each exercise individually.
This paper introduces the Knowledge Discovery Framework, a system that allows instructors to easily create discovery learning based assignments.
